A plain-language notice for this website.

1. Scope

This notice applies to personal information handled through rsc.dev and razorsharpconsulting.com by 2330455 Alberta Inc., doing business as Razor Sharp Consulting, or “RSC.” Alberta’s private-sector privacy law may apply to this handling of personal information.

2. What we collect

If you submit the contact form, RSC collects your name, email address, optional company name, project type, optional timing, and the message you choose to provide. Please do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information through the form.

The website and its infrastructure may also process limited technical request information, including an IP address and request metadata, to route requests, maintain security, reduce abuse, and apply rate limits.

If you run the Website Health Check, RSC sends the public page address and selected device type to Google PageSpeed Insights for analysis. The address and report contents are not sent to Google Analytics. Reports are not saved to an RSC report database. The service uses temporary request counters to limit repeated checks.

If you choose to load or open the consultation calendar, Google receives the technical information needed to display its booking page. When you book, Google Calendar processes your name, email address, selected time, and other details you choose to provide, and adds the appointment to Mike Cottingham’s RSC Workspace calendar.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics collects website usage information such as pages visited, navigation and link selections, scroll depth, document downloads, contact-form progress and outcomes, session statistics, approximate location, and browser and device information. Contact-form field contents are not sent to Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses first-party identifiers to distinguish visitors and sessions.

3. How we use information

RSC uses information to respond to an inquiry, understand the opportunity, assess whether RSC may be a good fit, operate and secure the contact service, understand aggregate website traffic and interactions, improve website content and navigation, and maintain reasonable business, security, and legal records.

4. Service providers and processing locations

RSC uses Amazon Web Services to host and operate the website, Twilio SendGrid to deliver contact-form messages by email, and Google Analytics to measure website use when a visitor allows analytics. These service providers may process information outside Canada under their own privacy and security programs. You can review the AWS Privacy Notice, Twilio Privacy Notice, and Google Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies and analytics

The Google Calendar embed loads only when you select “Show available times” or “Find a time with Mike.” Google may use its own cookies and account session. Health reports and Project Studio briefs can be copied or downloaded locally. If you carry notes into a consultation, they are temporarily stored in this browser tab and removed after transfer. They are not automatically sent to Google. Notes transferred to the contact form are sent only when you submit that form.

Project Studio and site search run in your browser. Planner inputs and search terms are not sent to RSC or Google Analytics. If you choose to review a Studio brief with RSC, it is temporarily stored in this browser tab to populate the contact form and removed after that transfer. The brief is sent only when you submit the form. Downloads and copies are created on your device.

RSC uses Google Analytics 4 only after you select “Allow analytics” in the website’s privacy choice. Google Analytics may then set first-party cookies, including _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie, to distinguish visitors and maintain session information.

Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization are disabled in RSC’s website tag. You can decline analytics or change your choice at any time using the “Analytics preferences” control. The website stores that choice in your browser. RSC does not use the website for advertising cookies or personalized advertising.

6. Sharing

RSC does not sell or rent personal information. RSC may disclose information to service providers that support the website and communications, to professional advisors where appropriate, in connection with a business transaction, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

7. Retention and safeguards

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for inquiry handling, business records, security, dispute resolution, and applicable legal obligations. RSC uses administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Access, correction, and deletion requests

You may ask RSC about personal information it holds about you, request a correction, or ask that information be deleted, subject to applicable legal and business-record obligations. Send a request to contact@rsc.dev. RSC may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Questions and complaints

10. Changes to this notice

RSC may update this notice when the website, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will be posted on this page.
